Week 1 of World Carnivore Month
Hi Friends & Fellow Carnies 🥩😋
January is World Carnivore Month so what better time to take a deep dive into the carnivore lifestyle? Many of you know I have been dabbling in the carnivore lifestyle for the better part of 2024 with great success! However, my busy life sometimes gets in the way, so I’ve been on again and off again. I’ve allowed traveling and the extra busy holiday season to interfere with my meal regime. Despite all of that, I’m determined to maintain a fully carnivore lifestyle for the entire month of January in honor of World Carnivore Month and more importantly, in honor of taking control of my health and well-being!
One thing I’ve found is what ever regime one decides to use to make life changes, Mind Over Matter is certainly an important factor to consider. You’ve got to get your mind in the right place and find the right regime for yourself to achieve success in anything you do, including your way of eating. If you’d like some help with keeping your thoughts in a healthy place, please subscribe to this blog and join my Facebook Group MIND OVER MATTER - A JOURNEY TO A HEALTHIER YOU
I’ve also started a carnivore meetup that will soon have weekly meetings. You’ll see this in the events section of the Facebook group MIND OVER MATTER—A JOURNEY TO A HEALTHIER YOU.
I’ll do a new post to share what you can expect if you choose to give the carnivore way of life a try… But for now, I’ll share my experience over the past week:
No breakfasts (I rarely have breakfast). Most times I eat OMAD (One Meal A Day) but I’m trying to be mindful of being TMAD (Two Meals A Day) throughout January.
Day 1: Scrambled eggs for lunch. Scrambled eggs and steak for dinner. Only water to drink all day. Felt like normal.
Day 2: No lunch. Was too busy. Scrambled Eggs and steak for dinner. Only water to drink all day. Felt a significant reduction in inflammation in my legs and feet.
Day 3: Steak and eggs for lunch. Steak and chipped beef dip for dinner. Felt even more relief from the continued reduction in inflammation. Moving more freely and less pain overall.
Day 4: No lunch. Steak and chipped beef dip for dinner. Continued to feel relief from the continued reduction in inflammation. Moving much more freely and with less pain overall.
Day 5: Scrambled eggs for lunch. Steak, scrambled eggs, and carnivore mashed potatoes for dinner (link for carnivore mashed potatoes - they were very good!) Incredible reduction of inflammation!
I did start feeling low on energy on this day. This is not uncommon early on. It will subside soon. (I probably should have already increased my electrolytes by now). I also had a bit of
restless legs this evening which interrupted sleep; again, I should have already been adding an electrolyte.
Day 6: No lunch. Steak and chipped beef dip for dinner.
Still low on energy. Nothing too terrible, but definitely noticeable. I finally added an electrolyte to my water this evening. No restless legs.
Day 7: As of right now, it is noon and I’m still fasting today. I have a 1:00 pm showing (I’m a Realtor), so I’ll likely not have lunch. Steak and scrambled eggs will be dinner.
Weight loss to date: -16.8 pounds (I have a LOT to lose and most of that was likely the inflammation/water weight).
